At Devlin Plummer Stained Glass in Norfolk we provide a protection service that serves as a preventative measure to ensure the longevity of glass. This includes Wire Guards and Isothermal Glazing.
Only the highest quality materials are used in the production of the wire guards we use, allowing us to give an indefinite guarantee against corrosion and faulty workmanship.
Each guard is welded at each intersection using a continuous inert gas fully shrouded welded arc process. The standard finish is painted semi-matt black high temperature powder coat to our own specification. Using a type of non reflective paint the guard virtually disappear from sight when viewing from a short distance. By placing guards on the innermost of the stonework the detail of the window masonry can be viewed in its entirety.
Sometimes we find the glass is in need of attention but the leading is in good condition. Todays’ solution to this problem comes in the form of isothermal glazing, or as it is sometimes called an internally vented protective glazing system.
Although isothermal glazing is not perfect, it is currently the best method we have at our disposal to protect fragile glass whilst keeping it in its original location.
